Jacqueline Massiah-Russell

Jacqueline Massiah-Russell was born and raised in Barbados, the second of three children. Jackie, as she is called, always had a passion for art from the time she was a child.

She really tapped into her creative side while at Combermere school under the tutelege of her art teachers Miss Jordan and Mr. Broodhagen. Here she learned many forms of art, her favourite being batik, screen printing and jewelry making.

Career-wise she followed in her mother‘s footsteps and became a teacher (mathematics).

However, she still yearned to get back to her art, and when the opportunity presented itself; she illustrated her mom‘s book “The Rabbit Race”. Seeking to enhance her skills as an artist, Jackie has delved into exploring painting further.

She now resides in the Bahamas (where she has been for almost 20 years) with her husband Kirkland and her daughter Zoë.
